Walk with gratitude in your heart & in your mind.

No matter what we are experiencing there is always room for gratitude.

Kindle Gratitude

Gratitude is the appreciation of what is valuable or useful to us. To be grateful is like giving a gift to our souls. The times when it is hardest for us to be grateful are the times when we most need to look around and give thanks for the good things in our lives. This walk will focus you towards a more grateful state of mind. Use it whenever you are in need of a lift or simply want to give thanks for your life & the world you live in.

The goal of this walk is to spend as much time as possible in a grateful mindset. Choose one of the gratitude prompts below and begin walking using the prompt to guide your thoughts. Walk until you have trouble creating feelings of gratitude or you simply feel you have done enough work with the prompt. When you have come to a stop, stand in stillness. Allow yourself to simply be. Allow the gratitude you just created to soak into your soul. Reflect upon the exercise you just did -how did it impact you, what did it make you feel?

When you are ready, chose another gratitude prompt – remember, you should only be moving while you are working with the feeling of gratitude. Repeat this process with at least three of the prompts below taking the time you need.

Gratitude Prompts

  • Choose something you can see and take some time to think about everything that needed to happen for it to come into existence.
  • Cycle through each of the five senses. Name and think about one thing you are grateful for right now related to every sense.
  • Say out loud something you are grateful for. Repeat until you can’t think of anything more.
  • Think of someone who has helped you in your life. Compose a thank you letter to them in your head.
  • Spend some time contemplating the way your body supports you when you walk. Think of all the work it is doing to move you forward. Thank it for all it does for you.
